My son lives in supported living, sharing a house with 5 others with 24hr support. This is one of the biggest providers in the UK. He has lived in the house now for 6years. The staff are generally good and caring.but.there is a distinct lack of training among staff and the quality of care reflects this. Sadly the lack of training and understanding works from the top down. For those who have regular family visits issues get sorted quickly...but this isn't the case for others. There needs to be tougher regulations around the quality of training. There needs to be more inspections...lol I have first hand knowledge of inspections and they are typically a paper excercise!
