A child I know receives full physical restrains in his special school. Four members of staff restrain. He's a young child and never violent at home. So shouldn't be used in school. They don't look fr the trigger they force him to work when he's clearly in distress and needs a break. So he's refused and throws a table. The restraining starts. He can't breathe. He's scared. He's bruised. He goes home exhausted and in pain. They say it's his fault for throwing a table. I say it's their fault for forcing him to work when he needs a break. They take him busy places and he has SPD . He had a meltdown. They Restrain him again with four members of staff. If this happens at home and he went covered in bruises he would be in care. They shouldn't be allowed to do this. They should be trained better.
